2025 Season Highlights

Scheffler captured six PGA Tour titles during the 2025 season, including major victories at the US PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club and The Open Championship at Royal Portrush, where he shot 17-under 267 to win by four strokes. His victory at The Open marked his fourth major championship title and the third leg of his career grand slam. With these victories, Scheffler became the first golfer since John Henry Taylor in 1909 to win his first four majors by three strokes or more.

Beyond major championships, Scheffler demonstrated consistency throughout the season. He won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson by eight strokes with a 31-under-par 253, tying the 72-hole PGA Tour scoring record. He also successfully defended his title at the Memorial Tournament in June, joining Tiger Woods as the only repeat winners of this prestigious event.

Statistical Dominance

Scheffler's 2025 performance showcased exceptional excellence across multiple statistical categories. He led three of the six crucial strokes-gained metrics: SG: Total (2.743), SG: Tee to Green (2.361), and SG: Approach (1.291). Most impressively, he posted a 67.99 scoring average, falling just shy of Tiger Woods' all-time record of 67.79 set in 2000 and 2007.

Additional statistical achievements included leading in proximity to the hole at 33 feet, approaches from 50-125 yards at 15 feet, and bounce back percentage at 36%. Scheffler swept the scoring average for each of the first four rounds and led both front nine and back nine scoring averages. He earned $27.6 million in official PGA Tour money, topping the financial list for 2025, though this remains below his 2024 record earnings of $29.2 million.

World Ranking Dominance

Scheffler maintains a commanding lead over second-ranked Rory McIlroy in the Official World Golf Ranking. The statistical disparity between the two players is striking: while Scheffler led 28 PGA Tour categories, McIlroy led just one (putting from 15-20 feet). This gap highlights why Scheffler is widely regarded as the most complete golfer on the planet, with superiority across driving, approach play, short game, and overall scoring.

As the 2025 season concludes, Scheffler is positioned to compete in the Hero World Challenge, where he seeks to become the first player in history to win the event three consecutive times, and will then compete in the Optum Golf Channel Games team event on December 17.
